On 8/10/10 we adopted litter mates Twiggy (male, orange tabby, formerly known as Butterfinger) and Monix (male, grey tabby, formerly known as Snickers) from Orphan Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. They were three months old. They were a great fit and definitely helped to make our first house a home. November 2011 we decided we wanted to adopt another cat. Without question, we went back to OARS. On 11/7/11 we adopted Phoenix (male, Lynx Point Siamese mix, formerly known as Albert). He was four months. We were looking for a cat to keep Twiggy entertained since Monix isn't as energetic. Phoenix was perfect. The introduction of all three cats couldn't have been better. All three of our cats get along and are very happy in their new home.

I just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and give you a few updated pictures of Honey. Honey has had a rough week or so.She had a large growing tumor removed last week. She had a rough couple of days with a drainage tube, etc, but she is back to her normal cheerful self. She gets the 17 stitches removed tomorrow, but you would hardly know she has gone through so much!
We think she must have been a bird dog. She is quick to react to birds in the brush. A few weeks ago she snuck up on several birds and caught them before they are able to fly away. This happened twice so far. Fortunately she is good with her “down” commands, they both eventually flew away after Honey let go of them.
Trevor and Honey hit it off the best. She sleeps in bed with Trevor each night. The two have become very close.
Wishing the best to you and yours this Christmas season!

About a year ago, we adopted our beautiful, sweet, adorable, terrific, wonderful, gorgeous (I could go on & on) kitty from you. She has since taken over our home AND our hearts!!! Our previous cat lived to be 21 years old and I had him for half of my life. It seemed I could not replace him, so I didn't have a cat for 10 years. Then, our beloved, Margie (alias Daisey Mae) came into our lives. Working at the Fox Valley Cat Clinic, I met her when she spent a couple weeks there for people to view & meet her for adoption. Seeing her beautiful face & personality was all it took. I realized that she was not taking the place of my other cat...just filling a place in my heart that had been waiting for another special kitty to love. My son, Noah, and I are now OWNED by Margie, and are grateful to OARS for giving us an opportunity to share our lives & love with our VERY special girl - what a blessing she is! Thank you OARS!!!!!!!

I though I'd send you an update on Libby.
She has been such a joy. She's always sweet and eager to please. She and our first dog, Cleo, get along like the sisters they are. We go to the dog park on a regular basis, and Libs has yet to meet a dog she doesn't like. She's completely taken over our couch, but she's willing to share with everyone, and will climb happily right into our laps--all 58 lbs. of her.
Thanks for taking such good care of her, and for introducing her to us. Happy holidays,
Nancy, Tom, Lucas, Cleo and Libby

Nina:Here are some updated photos of Nina (Misty) and her sister Buffy. She is still quite a nervous little girl, but slowlyshe is coming around. It's hard to get a picture of her alone because if shes not playing with Buffy they're sleeping together.
