The Pets of OARS
Meet the wonderful, adorable pets of our volunteers and supporters -
these are our four-legged friends who have inspired us to save even more homeless pets!

Sara W's Lucy
Lucy was rescued from a man’s property in Missouri along with 31 other dogs. Lucy and 4 other dogs were
raising their litters of puppies in the outdoors. Although the man who owned the property tried to feed and
water these dogs, he was convinced that they would be better off in loving homes that rescues over several
states could provide. Lucy has come out of her shell since being adopted in September and is truly my little
snuggle-bug! While at the vet, she learned that she can howl and enjoys “singing” with me when prompted.
Although she still has not learned or shown any desire to play with the multitude of toys that she has, I am proud
to say that she has finally mastered her peanut-butter Kong!
Sara’s favorite thing about Lucy:
How, after enjoying her bedtime snack in bed, she adjusts herself until she is super snug up against me when
we are ready to go night-night.

Olivia Z's Gus
Guster (aka Gus, Gussy) is my newest kitty; He is an American Shorthair that I adopted from Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue
in May 2009, and he is around a year old. He is very handsome, but don't let his looks fool you. He is a little troublemaker! :)
He loves all people once he gets to know you, and has a cute high pitched meow that he greets everybody with. His favorite
things to do are dig through/destroy the garbage, play in the dirty dishes, and EAT. He is a purring garbage disposal, I swear.
He inhales everything, from his own food, to kettle corn, lean cuisines, turkey, and bagels. My favorite thing about him is that
he always makes me smile, whether it's because he's being so naughty that I just have to laugh, or because he is just so darn cute :)
Olivia Z's Alex
Alex was my first kitty that was really my very own. I adopted him through Petsmart about 7 years ago, and he is just
as sweet as he was the first day I got him. He is very affectionate, extremely chatty, and loves EVERYBODY! His favorite
things to do are cuddle at all times, lay on my head, and play with his doughnut ball toy. After traveling between my
parents' houses for his whole life, he is now a city cat in Madison where I go to school living in my apartment with his
new buddy, Gus. My favorite thing about him is that he always knows when I am having a bad day, and he is always
willing to cuddle and make me feel better! :)

Emily V's Jazzy
Favorite activities: Rabbit kicking anything, doing "naughty face" when playing, being the first to meow
"I'm hungry" every morning, being brushed, doing hard (but loving) head-butts, getting bursts of excitement
and darting around the apartment like a crazy kitty, purring loudly, sleeping in laundry baskets, begging for human food
Favorite toys: Shiny streamers, Fling-a-ma-String, laser pointer

Emily V's Mollie
Favorite activities: Doing extreme tipovers, coming alive at night and flipping catnip toys all around the bedroom,
"chattering" at toys when Mom is trying to sleep, being a snuggle monster and cuddling under the covers, making
dozens of biscuits on blankets and also Mom's chest, sticking tongue out when meowing (SUPER CUTE), laying the
smack down on Hannah and Jazzy when needed (and even when not needed)
Favorite toys: Catnip mouse, catnip carrot, glitter balls, Star Chaser
Jen S 's Oliver
This is Oliver Orangeness. I adopted him from my college in 1999. He was a cat that we took off "death row" from the
humane society. He helpd to teach me to "save" animals, by allowing me to practice animal nursing skills on him.
After 6 months on the job, he was up for adoption. He has been with me ever since. We travel together often and he
has taught my son the fine art of "catattude". He understands my ups and downs, needs and wants. He is my best friend!
Donna G 's Jazzmine
Jazzmine was a rescue too-came to me pregnant -she had 3 babies, all got adopted. Jassmine has a job. She is my nursing home
cat, for 4 years she's been going to Nursing home visits, she sits on laps and gets petted. She is very good at it. She is very calm,
but once in awhile she gets really silly.
Donna G 's Smokey and Diesel
My 2 boys - Smokey grey cat looks like a Russian Blue was my first stray cat I took in as a kitten, he gives great massages.
This cat is priceless. He broke his leg and had surgery. To this day I do not know how he did it. Diese l -orange tabby - as a baby
came along for a ride with his siblings in my coworkers engine. He also had a leg injury from being extracted from the engine
and needed surgery, which he got from FVHA. I'm a foster flunkie too. His full name is Vin Diesel. He is a lump of love and
asks for tuna regularly. They love their cat sitter video.
Emily W's Oliver, Steve McQueen and Race
I attached a picture of my boys in their "tree" Oliver is the orange guy on top... the next one is Steve McQueen
and the bottom boy is Race. They did this on their own I didn't make them!! lol

Natalie and Alex N's Rufus, Pumpkin and Nemo
Kitties always do better with a feline companion!

Donna G's Zena
Zena is a great dane doberman mix who came to us by way of the very first Oshkosh Pet Expo in 1998. Zena has her
Canine Good Citizen title and is currently in retirement certified Pet Therapy dog with Therapy Dogs Inc. We used to
go to Theda Clark to visit people in the Critical Care waiting room and the Childrens Hospital. Zena will be 11 years old
this November. She still loves her walks and car rides.
Donna G's Benton
Benton is almost 1 year old-he will get his picture taken with a birthday hat and get a Frosty paw too.
I rescued Benton this past February 2009, somebody was moving and couldn't take him with, he is ours now.
He is very active & agile, loves to play with Brandy and go for walks.
Donna G's Brandy
Brandy is a 3 year old rescue female PitBull from Michigan. She is a character, loves to snuggle with us
and play with Benton outside. Brandy likes Lilly the cat.

Louise M's Nala, Simba and Elvis
Nala is 6 and we call her the Princess because she is in charge. She listens when we leave for work and tell them no they
cannot go along this time. She pulls the boys back away from the door by their tails as if to say, you are staying with me now!
Then we have Simba who is 8 years old and he’s become the grumpy old man who does not want to get out of bed! Simba
does take the alpha dog role when he wants to get his point across. Last but certainly not least is Elvis who is almost 3 and
very energetic! Every one of them has their own distinct personalities but they get along perfectly!
Donna M's Mercedes
German Shepherd Mercedes is always the go to girl when new foster dogs arrive. She shows them the ropes and helps
them feel comfortable. She is also the big sassy sister and barks/tattles when any of the dogs or cats break the rules.

Donna M's Kato
Kato was adopted from FVHA about 5 years ago. We estimate he is 8 or 9 years old but his energy level hasn't left the
vibrant lab adolescent stage. He loves to leap from the dock and swim out to retrieve tennis balls.
Donna M's Honi
Honi (honey) is about 4 years old and was adopted from Wisconsin Cocker Rescue. Honi is my only "failed foster".
She was supposed to be passing through on her way to her forever home but stole my heart and decided to hang with us.

Donna M's Benji
Benji is about 3 years old and our home's little ambassador. He might think he is a dog (since he lives with so many)
because he follows people around and greets visitors at the door. He was adopted from Saving Paws as a kitten.

Donna M's Oliver
Oliver is 3 years old and was adopted from Saving Paws as a kitten along with Benji. It's always better to bring kittens
home in pairs! Oliver likes to give manicures. He affectionately nibbles the tips of my fingers.

Donna M's Thunder
Thunder was rescued as a stray at Ft. Hood, Texas. When my son received orders for his first overseas assignment,
Thunder came to stay with me. After 7 years Thunder is here to stay!

Donna M's Toby
Toby was rescued from a barn near Waupaca about 7 years ago. His mother fell into a drum of motor oil before Toby
could even walk. She contaminated her nest and milk supply but Toby and one litter mate survived. He came to live
with me before he was one pound and considers me his furless mommy.
Nicole B's Blitz
Blitz is a 2 year old kitty adopted from Marathon County Humane...he's an ambassador to the foster kittens. Blitz found his mimi-me with this
foster kitten; he's my "rock star" with his devilish good looks, including beauty mark and goatee.
Nicole B's Bounce
Bounce is an adorable kitty who's a testament to "Feral" kittens being able to tame and domesticate -- he's a happy, snuggly boy
and part of our family. He was adopted from Saving Paws 2 years ago.
Nicole B's Buzz
Buzz is such a character - he chirps like a bird and is the ultimate kitty ambassador. He welcomes foster kitties and dogs with
open paws and even makes the veggies feel right at home....
Nicole B's Boo
Boo came to us from Eastshore Humane....she's slowly plotting a plan to take over the world.
Nicole B's Linus
Linus made a dog-lover out of me. He adores kitties, doesn't chew shoes and is a primo snuggler! Recognize this sweet mug?
He's one of our mascots!
Nicole B's Charlie
Charlie obviously loves to sleep butt-to-butt with his canine brother, Linus. (note Bounce upside-down by the pillow)
Emily A's Magoo
Magoo keeps us entertained with his many moods and hilarious antics! He brings me joy and laughter every day.
He was adopted 8 years ago from the Bay Area Humane Society. Recognize his cute little face? He's one of our mascots!
Emily's Favorite Thing About Magoo:
He snuggles up under the covers with me and purrs me to sleep.
Emily A's Mackenzie
Mackenzie is my beautiful dilute tortie, my first adopted kitty, who is a laid back, sweet purr-girl.
She was adopted 8 years ago from Fox Valley Humane Association.
Emily's Favorite Thing About Mackenzie:
How she just adores my husband.

Emily A's Love Love
Love Love is my little princess. She is living proof that a feral kitten can turn into a snuggly, loving lifetime companion.
She was adopted 2 years ago from Saving Paws. Recognize this little girl's sweet face and endearing gaze? She's one of our mascots!
Emily's Favorite Thing About Love Love:
How she follows me around everywhere I go and plops down in front of me to be petted.
Emily A's Smoochie
Smoochie is my miracle baby. She was rescued as a tiny baby kitten and I fostered her back to health; she barely made it.
She was adopted 1 years ago from the Neenah Animal Shelter. Recognize this cutie? She's on our home page!
Emily's Favorite Thing About Smoochie:
How she chirps like a baby bird when she knows it's dinner time.
