2. SUBMIT CAT ADOPTION APPLICATION

You're so close to taking the next step and adopting a cat!


We just need a little bit more information about you and your home. When you start filling out the form, we'll ask you for a few details about yourself, your family, and your home. We want to make sure that our kitties are going to be safe with you and that they'll be happy in their new homes.


Once you've filled out these questions, we'll get back to you with more information about how to adopt one of our kitties.

Please list two non-relative references who have seen you with pets, and note their relationship to you. Let them know an OARS volunteer will contact them.  


OARS Information

All cats are fostered for at least two weeks so we can assess their personality and needs. We do not do same-day adoptions or operate on a first-come, first-served basis—our goal is to find the best long-term fit for both the cat and the adopter. Fox Valley residents receive priority.

To meet a cat, please complete this application and participate in a compatibility interview.


Adoption Requirements & Terms

  • Renters: Provide a lease copy and pet addendum allowing cats to Orphan Animal Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc (OARS).
  • Veterinary Care: You agree to provide annual exams, vaccinations, and routine medical care from a licensed vet.
  • Adoption Fee: Non-refundable donation to OARS.
  • Pickup: A secure cat carrier is required when picking up your cat.

Acknowledgment & Agreement

By signing below, I certify that all information provided is true and accurate. I understand that OARS reserves the right to deny any application, and that any misrepresentation makes this agreement void, allowing OARS to reclaim the cat at my expense, including all associated legal costs.

When you adopt a cat from OARS, you're not just bringing home a new furry friend—you're giving them hope. For so many cats, adoption is their last chance at freedom and happiness. We believe that every cat deserves to feel safe and loved, and when you adopt from us, you're giving them that opportunity.

3. APPLICATION REVIEW PROCESS

When we have received your application, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. Because we are volunteer-run, please allow us 48-72 hours to process your application. Please notify your veterinarian’s office and personal references so that they are expecting our call/e-mail so as not to delay your application.


Adoption Fees

  • 1 Adult (1 year+) Spayed/Neutered Cat: $50
  • “Buddy System”: Adopt 1 Adult Cat, and the Adoption Fee is Half for the Second Adult Cat! $75 for 2
  • 1 Spayed/Neutered Kitten (under 1 year): $80
  • 2 Spayed/Neutered Kittens: $130
  • 1 Cat and 1 Kitten (both altered): $100


These fees do not come close to covering our expenses; in fact, our expenses are often 3-4 times the adoption fee. We welcome additional donations.


We are volunteer-run and receive no funding; we rely completely on donations to save the lives of the homeless cats in our care.


We seek to match our feline orphans with the best possible home for both the cat and the family to ensure the best lifelong companionship for both.
